Greetings from Director General
Tsukuba Global Innovation Promotion Agency (TGI) has been making every effort to construct “Tsukuba Innovation Ecosystem” to promote autonomous and sustainable innovation in Tsukuba, organically connecting high-quality technical potential and the needs of industry.
I currently hold the posts of Director General of TGI and Chairperson of TIA (Former TIA-nano). TIA, one of the important members of TGI, is an open innovation hub operated by five institutes including National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), University of Tsukuba, High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK), and University of Tokyo. It is also the largest center for research and education of nano-technology in Japan in cooperation with Japan Business Federation.
Not only to support the research and development projects conducted by TGI utilizing Tsukuba International Strategic Zone, but also to help many more people in the industrial world know about the current state or result of research in universities and research institutes in Tsukuba, we would like to take inventory of Tsukuba’s promising research seeds, and positively turn them into tangible results. For that purpose, we also would like to put special effort into the creation of a management system and build a brand for Tsukuba Innovation.
In order to fully utilize the research results obtained at Tsukuba Science City and develop Tsukuba as an “innovation city,” it is essential to have an integrated alliance of all relevant organizations. I would like to pour all of my efforts into creating “Tsukuba Innovation.” I would like to ask all of you for your cooperation and support.
